How Should I Go About Preparing my project for DVD Authoring

NOTE: The following process I have followed and recommended beginning with Arabesk 3, and continue to recommend for all Casablanca users buring SD DVD projects - even in Arabesk 6 (but again on SD projects, or on HD projects that you down-convert into SD using the Clipboard)

I have produced many, many DVDs in my Casablanca but at one of my hands-on workshops, a participant shared how he and his editing partner author their DVDs in such a clear process that I want to share that with you here.  This is of particular use when you wish to create a video with chapters.

Thanks to Don Simmons (Travel Jet Video) and Bobbie Evoy (Memories In Time Productions) for their willingness to share this valuable information.

1. Edit your video project/s completely, rendering your effects and audio.
2. Make a scene of your entire storyboard (using the Scene function in one of the 3 effects menus - process detailed in this article)
3. Use the Clipboard to move that new scene over to a new (empty) project
4. Use Split and split or divide that scene up into the separate parts according to the Chapter you wish to create.
5. Rename these new scenes (made from that one original new scene) according to the chapter names you wish to have in the finished DVD menu
6. Add these renamed scenes to the storyboard.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 for each separate film for your DVD, using separate projects for each film
8. Launch DVD Arabesk - as you add each film and click on Enter Chapter Menu - select Scenes as Chapters.  Your split scenes are already named and your chapter menu is much farther along.  You simply need to add a background, title (if you wish) and select the thumbnails (picture icons) that represent each chapter button.

NOTE: You can have up to 99 chapters in each film in DVD Arabesk 3 and higher.
Further details on editing Chapter Menus in Arabesk can be found in this article.
